Charged Double, charged for no membership!

1. I pay $15.00 but was charges $30.00 and when I brought it to their attention, they ended up charging me $38.50.

2.Never got the refund after being assured I would.

Never informed my monthly fee increased in January 2024 to $20.00, until January 18th, 2024.

4. Being charged an annual fee for a future membership that I won't have because I cancelled.

Due to not being able to actually go to the gym because of winter storms and transportation shut-downs, I cancelled my membership via email and got a response that I have to go to the gym personally and sign a document to cancel, so I'm being charged the full $59.00 ($20.00 + $39.00 annual fee). It's BS and Theft!

When my DISABLED partner went to the gym to cancel for herself, she asked for somewhere to sit down and informed the person at the entrance counter, "I'm disabled" and the response was "uh, I don't know".

She was never given a location to sit even though there were plenty of empty desks/chairs just a few feet away, the same place she was able to sit when she signed up! SMH Well done MUV!

Sauna uncleanliness

I have been a member of MUV Fitness on South Hill and recently had hip surgery so I havent been in for a year but Ive been coming back and I dont know what has happened to the management but the sauna is the most disgusting health hazard I have ever seen in my life. People are wearing street shoes and coming in. Theyre in their gym clothes and theres mud trapped in there. Theres also yellow sludge and *** and all the corners and puddles of water. People could slip in with a black mold around them, and all the boards on the sauna where you sit are loose . It is a true health disaster.

Lies and more lies and *** customer service

So I joined Muv fitness because I have a broken back and I needed to do some physical therapy to keep from atrophying and degrading any further than I already am. It was however a huge mistake to sign up with move fitness because of my condition I have not been able to get in for more than 7 months and move fitness cares not for my physical no my financial situation which you can imagine not being able to work I have serious financial issues.

Where I received problems is me trying to suspend or put a freeze on the billing for the 3 months that you're allowed to so I can get caught up with the rest of my bills.

So after coming in in person which was required I talked to a manager and put in a pause only to yet again be billed. So now this is the 8th month I have not been into the gym yet I am still paying $50 a month for nothing totaling over $350 now gone to move fitness CEOs and greedy c***** corporate ***

Make sure you check out the place before you sign a contract. Gym is very dirty especially during peak hours. Bathrooms and showers are disgusting. Equipment breaks and a sign just says out of order forever. 30 plus year old building, very dated. Better, nicer, cleaner places in the area.

I cancelled back in February and I have still been being charged every month, twice this month.

I cancelled my membership through mail back in February due to being 8 months pregnant and on bed rest. Went in person in July to cancel after seeing that I was still being charged. I am still being charged and being charged twice a month now!

I was cheated.

My daughter and I called MUV Fitness in Irmo, SC and cancelled membership due to COVID-19. But I was told all memberships were suspended until COVID-19 was over.

I trusted them and they never bothered me. Then I got a letter from NetCollectio$a agency that I missed payments and listed the bills. I explained that I cancelled and they never billed me. So, I wrote to MUV Management and I was told the decision was final.

I appealed to BBB which tried to help But they, too, were rebuffed. Then I wrote to the South Carolina Consumer Protection Agency. Now, MUV Manager agreed to cancel the collection and he even claimed he did not know what happened!! He knew he had refused my claim many times.

But he got scared when SC Consumer Protection got involved.

They are dishonest and I don't rust them anymore.

Dissatisfied with staff

During pandemic I discontinued using fitness center. Received multiple calls asking for my return membership to MUV. May 4, 2020, representatives called and said if I paid past due (should have never been) for myself and son, she would activate both and give special of 5 months free- which was their promotion at time. I agreed, paid current. Now- I went in Tuesday June 15th to use sauna and was informed membership has been cancelled. I speak with same front desk clerk- Tuesday Wednesday &;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; now, Thursday. Nothing resolved.

No one knows what going on

I called to reserve a spot in the spa yesterday only to be told that I can only make reservations for after 4 and no reservations can be made before that time. In fact no one was allowed to use the pool or spa before that time. When I was there three days ago around noon there were individuals in the pool and spa. I tried to make a reservation as I was leaving only to be told I had to call 24-hours prior. What is the policy?

Haven't been back to MUV since it first closed during COVID. My contract was supposed to had ended Sept.20, 2020 with a 30 day notice before renewal. But I have not receive one and been calling to speak to someone's in charge and no one is every available. I have been still getting charged different amounts since and want my refund and contract permanently cancelled fully.

I have been a member in several gym, this must be among the worst. Pool- people getting into the hot tub dressed, disgusting, then getting into the pool. Steam room- people going in dressed and then going into the hot tub fully dressed. When I complain to the front desk they said next we see that happening we will address it "they have 2 cameras ??? look at the recording.

My favorite trainer is being let go because of a non compete clause. Nick is so on the ball, knowledgeable, and kicks my butt! Young and very motivated. He also works pt at OrangeTheory. This non compete is absurd! In times when classes are decreasing because they didnt hire instructors back, classes have been cancelled, instructors have left and covid has substantially lowered your enrollment/revenue, you would think to keep on staff that are worth it!!! I dont want to train with another, there are hardly any classes that I am able to take, and noon yoga classes are completely off the schedule! Im annoyed and not loving my gym! I have been a faithful member for almost 15 years. Please readdress this non compete! Nick is too damn good and others are in agreement.
